Museo delle Miniere di Vignola
To take you into a world you've only imagined, we're reconstructed a mine, exactly as it was seen by our miners until the 1960s when mining was discontinued. A time when the abandoned mines began to close in on themselves, to rest and remember. In the museum there are photographs, equipment and green, pink and white crystals of fluorite, quartz and barite; you'll follow the mining adventures of a small mountain community of fewer than 200 souls and learn the story of Trentino's oldest mountain, Monte Orno (orno means ball), "the mountain where the sun rises" to residents lower down the valley. Here the area's collectors display their best exhibits, laying bare the passions that have been passed down through the generations. Adjoining the museum, the Stube Valzurg restaurant offers a workshop for children, who can dress up as little miners and go in search of precious stones.
